Terms of Service - Live Translation: Speak & Scan

1ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By downloading, installing, or using Live Translation: Speak & Scan ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

Live Translation: Speak & Scan provides real-time text, image, and voice translation services. The App offers both free and premium subscription tiers. The App also features a P2P Connect mode that allows two devices to engage in a real-time translated conversation over a local network.

3SUBSCRIPTION, BILLING & SERVICE CONSUMPTION

Premium subscriptions provide immediate access to digital features including but not limited to: unlimited character translation (up to 3,000/trans), persistent history, cloud export, and background audio services.
Billing: Subscriptions are billed at $15/month or $120/year.
Auto-Renewal: Your subscription automatically renews to ensure uninterrupted service. You can disable auto-renewal in your Store Settings at any time, which will prevent future charges but will not refund the current period.
Immediate Consumption: By completing a purchase, you request immediate access to these digital services. Accessing any premium feature constitutes full consumption of the digital service for that billing period.

4NO-REFUND & FINAL SALE POLICY

STRICT NO-REFUND: All purchases are final and non-refundable.
No Cancellations for Refund: Once a subscription is active and digital features have been accessed, the purchase cannot be cancelled for a refund of the current billing cycle.
Technical Issues & App Updates: Bug fixes and technical improvements are rolled out through regular app updates. Scheduled updates are performed at least twice per year to ensure optimal performance. However, the Developer reserves the right to release ad-hoc updates at any time as needed to fix urgent bugs, address technical vulnerabilities, or implement security patches. Technical issues do not constitute grounds for a refund, as we provide ongoing app maintenance and periodic updates to resolve such matters.
By subscribing, you explicitly waive any "cooling-off" period or right of withdrawal under local laws, given the immediate delivery of digital content.

5FREE TIER LIMITATIONS

Text translation: Limited to 1 point/request, 300 characters per translation.
Image translation: Cloud OCR is available with ads.
Voice/audio translation: Limited to 2 points/request.
Daily free energy: 5 points/day.
Translation history: Retained for 30 days only.
TWS/Bluetooth audio routing and background mode are not available.
P2P Connect (Join as Guest): Free users may join a P2P session as a guest by scanning a QR Code generated by a Premium host. Guest users can participate in real-time translated conversations but cannot initiate or host sessions.

6PREMIUM BENEFITS

Unlimited image, voice, and text translations (up to 3,000 characters).
Unlimited translation history retention.
TWS earbuds and Bluetooth speaker routing.
Background Translation Mode: Keep the app actively listening and translating even when the screen is off or another app is in use. Each background session is automatically stopped after 30 minutes to preserve device battery and minimize data consumption. Users may restart the session manually at any time.
Cloud export to Google Drive.
Ad-free experience.
P2P Connect (Host): Generate a QR Code to invite others into a real-time multilingual conversation session. Guests do not need a Premium subscription to join.

7USER CONDUCT & PROHIBITED USE

Users shall not engage in:

Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract the App's source code.
Automated scraping or high-frequency API requests that exceed human interaction limits.
Sharing premium credentials with unauthorized third parties.
Using the App for harassment, hate speech, or sharing sensitive personal data of third parties without consent.

8ACCURACY AND PERFORMANCE LIMITATIONS

The App's performance and translation accuracy are highly dependent on external factors. By using the App, you acknowledge that:

Microphone Sensitivity: The quality of voice capture depends on the physical hardware and sensitivity of the device's microphone.
Ambient Noise: Background noise (wind, traffic, music, or other simultaneous voices) significantly impacts speech recognition accuracy.
Distance: Speech capture is most effective within 1 meter of the device's primary microphone. In background mode, the App uses the Phone Microphone; ensure the device is positioned appropriately.
Internet Connectivity: Real-time translation requires a stable internet connection. High latency or low signal strength may cause delays, truncated sentences, or service failures.
Dialects and Accents: Strong regional accents, slang, or fast speech patterns may reduce the accuracy of the speech-to-text engine.
Language Support & Offline Limits: The App supports 105+ translation languages (plus Auto Detect) online for Premium users. Offline translation is strictly limited to supported ~30+ languages. Languages and regional dialects not supported.

9ACCOUNT SYNC & RECOVERY

To provide a seamless experience across multiple devices, subscription status and account-specific settings are synchronized via Google Firebase Firestore. While we strive for high availability, we do not guarantee that cloud synchronization will be instantaneous or error-free at all times.

10FORCE MAJEURE

The Developer shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control ("Force Majeure"), including but not limited to:

Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, fires).
Acts of war, terrorism, civil unrest, or large-scale cyber warfare.
Massive infrastructure failures (undersea cable damage, satellite outages, global internet disruptions).
Government-mandated internet shutdowns or censorship.

In such events, the Developer is not obligated to provide refunds or compensation for service interruptions.

11DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT TRANSLATIONS ARE 100% ACCURATE OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.

12LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE ARISING FROM INACCURATE TRANSLATIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL INTERFERENCE, OR GLOBAL INFRASTRUCTURE FAILURE.

13CHANGES TO TERMS

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the App following the posting of changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
